Toope selected for the Competition at Kortfilmfestival Leuven 2026

We are proud to share that our latest short film Toope is part of the Competition at Kortfilmfestival Leuven 2026. The film will be shown during the festival's opening night on 27 November.
Caring Magda (65) lives with her eccentric sister Ruth on an old farm. Ruth has suffered from mood swings since her youth; in recent years they have become ever more extreme and harder to bear, for Ruth herself as well as for Magda. Ruth has decided that her life has lasted long enough.
Katelijne Damen and Sofie Decleir deliver a true acting masterclass in this layered portrayal of the impact of mental suffering on a family, made by director Jeannice Adriaansens, who first attended Kortfilmfestival Leuven exactly 20 years ago. A gripping film about care and self-care that does not shy away from the complexity of relationships.
Toope is a production of DotInk Cinema and Hilife Cinematography, made possible with the support of the Netherlands Film Fund and the Flanders Audiovisual Fund (VAF).
